The purpose of the senior level English course is to study the language of literature. In this class, you will analyze, explicate, and lose yourself in the “pretty words” of great writers. In the past years, the emphasis of your writing has been more literary writing: where you read a piece of work, then articulate what the writer is saying about theme, point of view, characters, setting, etc. This class is no different. This level of analysis, however, will require a heightened academic vocabulary and an openness to explore multiple poems, plays, and novels.
AP Literature Additional Information As an AP class, we will move swiftly, while exploring deeply. The goal of this course is to cover a semester’s worth of college material so absences, missing assignments, and inattention to detail will hurt you dearly. The AP Literature & Composition Exam will be administered on Wednesday, May 6, 2020 at 8 AM. 100% of Senator Scholars will be on time and prepared. |
