POEM:
SESTINA
September rain falls on the house.
In the failing light, the old grandmother
sits in the kitchen with the child
beside the Little Marvel Stove,
reading the jokes from the almanac,
laughing and talking to hide her tears.
She thinks that her equinoctial tears
and the rain that beats on the roof of the house
were both foretold by the almanac,
but only known to a grandmother.
The iron kettle sings on the stove.
She cuts some bread and says to the child,
It's time for tea now; but the child
is watching the teakettle's small hard tears
dance like mad on the hot black stove,
the way the rain must dance on the house.
Tidying up, the old grandmother
hangs up the clever almanac
on its string. Birdlike, the almanac
hovers half open above the child,
hovers above the old grandmother
and her teacup full of dark brown tears.
She shivers and says she thinks the house
feels chilly, and puts more wood in the stove.
It was to be, says the Marvel Stove.
I know what I know, says the almanac.
With crayons the child draws a rigid house
and a winding pathway. Then the child
puts in a man with buttons like tears
and shows it proudly to the grandmother.
But secretly, while the grandmother
busies herself about the stove,
the little moons fall down like tears
from between the pages of the almanac
into the flower bed the child
has carefully placed in the front of the house.
Time to plant tears, says the almanac.
The grandmother sings to the marvelous stove
and the child draws another inscrutable house.
Her choice of a sestina allows this cascading effect to take place in a logical manner. Imagery is vivid and the narrative almost childlike in places, punctuated here and there with more difficult words like equinoctial.
The emphasis is on the positional change of end words, just like different people in a dance, a repeated pattern of pre-determined nature. If we take the word tears for example. In the first stanza it's the girl who is hiding them, in the second the tears relate to the autumn equinox, in the third, fourth, fifth and sixth stanzas, tears come from the teakettle, grandmother's teacup, a man's buttons, little moons respectively.
Inside of the movie Star wars, you have young Anakin Skywalker who was a poor boy raised up as a slave. After becoming a jedi Anakin enjoyed the power that came along with his jedi training , so much so that he began to crave it. Anakin later met Darth Sidious where Anakin was sold on the idea of obtaining more power and turned Anakin to the dark side. Anakin the pure boy was changed into a " vampire" craving all great power while he was alive.
In "The Phantom of the Opera" there is a vampire story. Christine , this story's young virginal girl, is taught to sing by The Phantom. This phantom is an older man who represents misery, anger, and resentment. He teaches her to sing so that she may give life to his music and prevents her from going out and having fun, in a sense, stealing hwr virtue and youth. Finally, towards the end of the story, the phantom forces to choose between him or the life of her lover, emotionally destroying her.

Carve my name
In the sand
The wave clears it, again
This poem uses enjambment as well as its overall short length to add to the message being conveyed. The title is evanescence, which means a state of fading away. This along with the image of waves clearing sand and shortness of the poem come together to establish the theme that nothing lasts. As the poem ended in a mere 3 lines, it is a clear example that all must come to an end, sometimes relatively quickly.
Part 1-
In the film, " Three steps above heaven" Babi is a girl from upper-middle class that is educated in goodness and innocence. she meets Hache who is a rebellious boy, impulsive, unconscious, has an appetite for risk and danger embodied in endless fights and illegal motorbike races, the limit of common sense. This movie shows a theme of vampire story because before Babi was introduced to Hache she was on the road to a successful life, however the moment she gets involved with him, Hache somewhat unknowingly corrupts and taints her virtue by exposing her to the dangers of reckless fights and illegal deadly motorbike races.

We real cool. We

The poem form supports the meaning of the poem because poem creates the theme that the youth live life fast and high risk. while also creating emphasize by using blunt and short syntax on how life is short, abrupt, and living a fast life in the end can lead to death which is inevitable.
Acts of Vampires & Sonnets

Furthermore in the journey, the blood on the hand on the girl pushes her to become mentally unstable to the point that she unsuccessfully tries to kill herself and report their crime to the police. Poem Plant
https://ufdcimages.uflib.ufl.edu/AA/00/06/18/53/00001/Plants.pdf
The poetic form in the poem Plants is a free verse because of the absence of rhymes scheme. The form of the poem creates a descriptive narration; the poem serves as a warning to the human regarding plant conquest. The poet describes the different characteristics of plants and humans should not stand oblivion to these issues threatening their species. In conclusion, the poem poetic form being a free-verse illustrates a descriptive narration that supports the poem’s warning toward people that plants are more dominant.

Poem: Sonnet 60 - William Shakespeare
Like as the waves make towards the pebbled shore,
So do our minutes hasten to their end;
Each changing place with that which goes before,
In sequent toil all forwards do contend.
Nativity, once in the main of light,
Crawls to maturity, wherewith being crown’d,
Crooked elipses ’gainst his glory fight,
And Time that gave doth now his gift confound.
Time doth transfix the flourish set on youth
And delves the parallels in beauty’s brow,
Feeds on the rarities of nature’s truth,
And nothing stands but for his scythe to mow:
And yet to times in hope my verse shall stand,
Praising thy worth, despite his cruel hand.
In the poem “Sonnet 60” by William Shakespeare, the usage of a sonnet helps the reader understand the meaning of the poem. In Shakespeare's poem, he conveys the theme that time will always go on and nothing will truly last except for ones work. Since the poem is a sonnet, the iambic pentameter creates repetition, such as the repetitive passing of time and nature.
Part 1
In the movie sparkle, Sparkle is ripped of her innocence because her mother is focused on her past in the music industry. Sparkle is belittled and discouraged by her mother from pursuing her dreams of being a star. As a young women she is put in a mindset that she wont pursue her dreams ultimately leading to Sparkle having a lowered self esteem. The harshness Sparkle endured from her mother took her innocence as a child and left her under her mothers control.
Part 2
The poem is a sonnet 60 poem with rhymes. The speaker has a shift from remember her when she dies but then if he remembers don't grieve. The end rhyme more so conveys the idea because it end the poem on that note.
By: Cristina Rosetti
Remember me when I am gone away,
Gone far away into the silent land;
When you can no more hold me by the hand,
Nor I half turn to go yet turning stay.
Remember me when no more day by day
You tell me of our future that you plann’d:
Only remember me; you understand
It will be late to counsel then or pray.
Yet if you should forget me for a while
And afterwards remember, do not grieve:
For if the darkness and corruption leave
A vestige of the thoughts that once I had,
Better by far you should forget and smile
Than that you should remember and be sad

In the Poem Sestina by Elizabeth Bishop, she uses the sestina form in order to develop the theme of a loving household, where the grandmother cares for the child. They have a good time together and it is mixed with sadness from the grandmother. It is her mortality and the child's innocence she cries at. A sestina (or a sestine, sextine, or sextain) is a seven stanza poem. The first six stanzas consist of six lines and the last one of three, called an 'envoi.' Something interesting about them is way the last word of each line repeats itself: 'house, tears, child, almanac, stove, and grandmother.' This pattern is traditional in sestinas.
Part 1-
In the show " My Babysitter's a Vampire", an irresponsible teen named Ethan was suppose to look after his baby sister, but after almost getting her killed his parents gave him the "worst" punishment, a babysitter to watch over him and the sister. When the parents hired the babysitter, they didn't know the dark secret she was hiding. The family didn't know she was a fledgling vampire.

In " We Real Cool", Brooks use enjambment to support the meaning of the poem. The enjambment creates the effect of the "we" as uncertain, left hanging and without identity. This helps create the theme that youth live at risk taking and fun, however, they cannot create a facade to mask reality. Brooks also uses short syntax to represent the short life that the teens will have by living their life full of regret and mistakes because they believed they are too cool for school.
